Data input fields are configured at forms design time with specific allowable characters. If you are trying to write numbers in a field configured to allow only alpha characters, the Mi-Forms recognition engine will make a confidence-based guess and insert that value in the field. For example, if you write a “1″ or “2″ in an alpha only field, Mi-Forms will likely return an “I” or “Z” respectively.

Fields may be constrained beyond simple alpha, numeric, or alphanumeric. Mi-Forms allows the forms designer to specify special characters (-, /, #, &, etc.), constrain individual boxes to a subset of characters (such as a date field where the first digit of the month can only be “0″ or “1″).ved, altered, or corrupted.
